We swept the Dukes to pick up our first 2 wins of the year.
Dakota Upton pitched a gem in game 1 but a few errors lead to their runs. The error of the year was made by Jared Albo. A ball was hit to him in left field and he dropped it while trying to pimp the catch. The Cardinals let him have it. Our bats are starting to wake up but only have one leg out of the bed. Elliot Shrive was out for the first time this season and picked up the K-LID. Check out or Facebook page for a photo and video. Jade Alberts and Jared Albo picked up a couple hits and RBI’s. Jade Alberts also made a a spectacular diving play at second for the out, but don’t ask him about the one that hit is hand in the glove.
Teddy shook off his first game performance by actually hitting his spots in game 2. In his first AB Elliot hit a can of corn to keep the K-LID, but then lost it in style by launching a 3 rum BOMB. He’s the first Longhorn to lose the K-LID by hitting a bomb. We look forward to seeing him again in a month. Peaches who also made his season debut shook off a slow start and ripped the ball, he did kind of toe pick and missed a pop fly. We were down 4-1 so it was a good come from behind victory.
We play the Canadians on Monday, Twins on Thursday and U of C on Friday.
