Game 1 – Owen pitched a 4 hitter and had some stellar defense behind him including Rex doing snowangels beside second base as Suchan turned a double play. Down 3-1, Lars and Kuzek got things started and let Albo knock them in with 2 consecutive bombs for the win. Game 2 – Ulmer pitched great for the first 2 innings, striking out the side in both. We took an early 4-0 lead, but he ran into trouble in the 3rd, giving up 7 runs in the inning. We chipped away and took a 8-7 lead into the 7th. After letting the ‘Cocks score a run in the top of the 7th to tie the game, we won it in the bottom of the inning. Carter lead off with a walk and Suchan was also walked. Bud laid down a bunt and the pitcher tried to get Carter at 3rd. His speed must have messed the pitcher up, he threw the ball into left field to give us the win.
